ZDF Enterprises to welcome Anthony E. Zuiker at MIPTV for digital thriller “Cybergeddon”
MIPTV / Cannes, 6th April 2013
ZDF Enterprises, the sales and distribution arm of German pubcaster ZDF, is looking forward to welcoming CSI-creator Anthony E. Zuiker at this year’s MipTV in Cannes next week, where he will receive the Pioneer Prize for the digital thriller “Cybergeddon” and participate in a conference program with Media Mastermind keynote on the future of storytelling. ZDF Enterprises distributes “Cybergeddon” together with Dolphin Entertainment worldwide.
Cofinanced by Yahoo, this production was made for an exclusive Yahoo Online Premiere. It launched on September 25, 2012 in 25 countries and over 10 languages. It was featured in the New York Times, LA Times, and on Entertainment Tonight in the United States. “Cybergeddon” was written to be a format for both an ongoing digital premiere as well as a 90 minute seamless TV Movie. When working with talent of the caliber of Anthony E. Zuiker, this writing style can be accomplished in a way that the format truly lends itself perfectly well to both formats in the most organic of ways.
Christine Perrine, SVP, Intl Sales and Marketing at Dolphin Entertainment, says "We are thrilled to have partnered with such a standout distribution company on this groundbreaking title. ZDF Enterprises' enthusiasm for the property coupled with their remarkable distribution capabilities and the quality of this content is the perfect formula for an international sales sensation."
Alexander Coridass, President and CEO of ZDF Enterprises, adds “We have a trusting cooperation with the brilliant Bill O’Dowd and his associates and are proud to be able to distribute Anthony E. Zuiker’s “Cybergeddon” in our territories. The digital market is of great importance to us and we shall continue to invest in digital projects and developments in this field.”
Cybergeddon follows the story of agent Chloe Jocelyn (Missy Peregrym, “Rookie Blue”) as she investigates a slew of seemingly unrelated cyber-attacks with fellow agent Frank Parker (Manny Montana, “Breakout Kings”) and incarcerated master hacker Chase ‘Rabbit’ Rosen (Kick Gurry, “Speedracer”). Chloe and her team must crack the worldwide cybercrime ring led by Gustov Dobreff (Olivier Martinez, “Unfaithful”) before it is too late. In a world where everyone is connected, everyone is at risk.
