Christophe Goldberger, Managing Director at GoldBee, will again be representing ZDFE.junior’s catalogue at this year’s ATF. ZDF Enterprises and GoldBee have been partners since early 2014 in order to manage and distribute ZDFE.junior’s program catalogue and consumer products in Iberia, Latin America and Asia.
Peter Lang, Vice President ZDFE.junior: “We at ZDFE.junior have one of the strongest catalogues of kids programs in the industry. With more than 3,500 commercial hours, we are currently looking to expand and reinforce our presence in the region through partnerships with local and pan-Asian broadcast and digital platforms, and are actively looking for partners in the licensing and merchandising area for our mermaid brands.”
In terms of line-up, launching at ATF and heading up the list of animated series, is brand new ‘H2O – Mermaid Adventures’ (26x26’), the animated spin-off of international hit series ‘H2O - Just Add Water’ which aired in over 160 territories including Nickelodeon in the US and all across Asia, with broadcast partners such as HBO Family Asia, Media Prima (Malaysia), GMA (Philippines), and MCOT (Thailand). The brand-new animated series is taking the original concept of the world-hit live-action series to a whole new level. It brings exciting underwater adventures to kids 6 to 10 years old, and has an extensive merchandising program about to roll out worldwide. It also follows the release of teen live action series ‘Mako Mermaids’ (68x26’ in total so far), now going into its third season. ‘Mako Mermaids’ debuted on The Disney Channel in the US this year, and has already been successfully airing on HBO Family Asia, GMA, and MOCT.
‘Inui’ (26x7’ and 26 more in pre-production) is a new pre-school series about a loveable little Inuit girl who loves the snow, grew up in the Arctic Circle and knows how to keep warm and have fun with her friends Crackpot the Caribou, Grouchy the Polar Bear and Lady Penguin. This is a series about a child’s imagination of the polar region and the meaning of friendship.
‘Scream Street’ is a 52 x 11 minute, funny, scary, gross-out stop-motion animation show. A fast-paced, stylish, comedy-horror extravaganza, based on the hit book series, following Luke Watson: a regular teen… apart from the werewolf gene! When the Government Housing of Unusual Lifeforms (G.H.O.U.L.) gets wind of Luke’s hairy habit, they transfer him and his parents to Scream Street – where surfer-dude zombies, sarcastic vampires, martial arts mummies, glamorous witches and just plain-bad monsters put a whole new spin on community spirit. The stories are packed full of humour and horror delivered with warmth and heart – even if some of those hearts have stopped beating!
