ZDF Enterprises sells major documentary package to FTV Prima

Mainz license dealer supplies new channel “Prima ZOOM” on IPrima

Mainz, 7th March 2013

ZDF Enterprises hat sold an extensive package of documentaries to the Czech Republic’s FTV Prima. On 1 February 2013, the company’s channel Prima launched “Prima ZOOM,” thus expanding its palette of channels with a fourth one. Within the next three years, ZDF Enterprises will deliver 475 program hours to this new broadcaster from domains such as Wildlife & Nature and Science. During its first year on air, it will acquire 250 hours of programming from the Mainz rights dealer, about 15% of the entire program of “Prima ZOOM.” The documentary package comprises internationally successful titles such as “Planet Egypt,” “Holy War,” “Invisible Universe,” “Missing Link,” “Adventure Ocean Quest,” “Cowboys of the Sea,” “Martian Mega Rover” and “Wild Hungary.”

Ralf Rueckauer, Vice President ZDFE.factual, says that “in the past years we have consistently built up and expanded the ‘factual’ genre collection of our program catalogue. We are now no longer simply highlight suppliers and co-producers of super-docs, but also service providers and launch partners for new slots and channels which we support from the start.”
