ZDF Enterprises sells major documentary package to DAF Deutsches Anleger Fernsehen

The German Free-TV broadcaster DAF (Deutsches Anleger Fernsehen AG) has expanded its program service. Under the new slogan 'Knowledge pays off' DAF will now be offering its viewers high caliber documentaries and service magazines as well.
ZDF Enterprises has licensed an extensive program package to the broadcaster, with numerous top-quality titles from the international market. Among them are documentaries on history, nature and science, including the series “Mayday,” which shows how experts learn from airplane accidents how to prevent future catastrophes; “Austin Stevens,” with reports about the daredevil adventures of the South-African photographer and acknowledged expert on amphibians and reptiles; the series “Modern Wonders” produced by the History Channel U.S., with exciting findings from the fields of technology and history; and “Alaska State Troopers,” which follows elite police offers on their not-quite-everyday missions to keep the peace between the Aleutians and the polar circle.
In addition to delivering an interesting full program, ZDF Enterprises is also supplying 200 contunico clips in its agreement. contunico, ZDF Enterprises’ premium short-film service, offers solidly researched short films from the vast archives of the ZDF and other sources. This collection of self-contained, exclusive short films made with impressive visuals and in outstanding journalistic quality, range from themes such as history and current events to culture, science, health, travel, food, entertainment and much more.

The DAF Deutsches Anleger Fernsehen can be received free-to-air via ASTRA digital as well as, among others, the major cable networks Unity Media, Kabel BW, Martens und Wilhelm.Tel and the Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV network, Entertain. Moreover, the station can be seen on its own online portal www.daf.fm. The broadcaster also provides access to all of the station’s reports and interviews in the cost-free DAF Mediathek – more than 50,000 videos for over 3,000 single values.
DAF is a cooperation partner of the news broadcaster N24, which obtains its live reports from DAF correspondents on site at the Frankfurt and New York stock exchanges. On every trading day, DAF reports ten hours live from the studios and editorial offices in Frankfurt and Kulmbach, as well as directly from the German Bourse and the New York Stock Exchange.
