Cannes, 15th April 2015.
ZDF Enterprises is pleased to announce an important new deal just signed by its drama department ZDFE.drama with Benelux's Lumière at this year's MIPTV in Cannes.
The deal comprises TELLUS, a youth-oriented series about young eco-activists who land in big trouble.... JOHAN FALK, the third season of the Scandi cop series inspired by actual cases from Swedish special ops files... and ARNE DAHL, the second season of adventures in an elite police unit that investigates complex, violent crimes with international connections.
Lumière will obtain all rights for the Benelux territories in the new deal. This deal is a further step in consolidating the important partnership between the two firms.
Lumière is a long-term distribution partner of ZDF Enterprises and nabbed its first major successes with the release of three seasons of Scandi hit THE KILLING in its territory, followed by other Crime series from ZDF Enterprises' drama catalogue such as BRON/BROEN; DICTE; DEATH OF A PILGRIM and THE FALL (starring Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Gillian Anderson (The X-Files)). On top of this, Lumière's production arm Lunanime was involved in the coproduction of the crime series THE TEAM, which ZDF Enterprises distributes worldwide and which has had an exceptional success wherever it has aired so far (market shares of 55 % on DR in Denmark, 38% on NRK in Norway, 20 % on ZDF in Germany and 16.6 % on SRF in Switzerland).
Lumière Publishing is an all rights Benelux distributor. Some of their recent theatrical releases include Boyhood, A Most Violent Year, Like Father Like Son, and Leviathan. Furthermore, they distribute series, most notably La meglio gioventù, Borgen, The Bridge, The Killing, and many more. Lumière also has an in-house production company, Lunanime, which has co-produced among others Jacques Audiard’s Rust and Bone, the Academy Award-nominated animated feature A Cat in Paris, and the new European police series The Team.
