ZDF Enterprises Scores with Love & Romance at DISCOP East

The ZDF Enterprises sales team is returning with a sense of well-earned satisfaction from the DISCOP East television market in Budapest, which has just drawn to a close.

They were particularly successful with television films and series from the fiction department. The ZDF Enterprises "Love and Romance" package was especially popular, with titles including TV movies from the "Bastei", "Rosamunde Pilcher", "Dream Voyage", "Inga Lindström" and "The Holiday Doctor " collections - as well as the soap "Tessa - A Life for Love", the series "Wild Rose Valley" and individual productions like "Cruise into Cloud Nine" and "My Wonderful Family" - being sold to Markiza TV/Slovakia, LNT/Latvia, Diema and BTV in Bulgaria.

The Czech channel Prima TV purchased a total of 13 TV movies from the Rosamunde Pilcher collection, while viewers in that country will soon find more action on their screens with two series of "Hamburg Dockland".

Audiences of the Polish broadcaster Canal+ can look forward to the romantic comedy "Heart of Chocolate", while Hungarians who tune in to FILMNET IPTV can continue to enjoy the classic "The Heritage of the Guldenburgs".

Christian Massmann, Head of Sales at ZDF Enterprises, confirms this: "Particularly in times of crisis, viewers of our clients have a greater need for softer subjects and productions with great feeling. Our comprehensive and many-faceted fiction portfolio allows us to satisfy this need both in terms of series and TV movies."

On top of all this, a large number of documentary films found a market in Budapest: Prima TV in the Czech Republic secured broadcasting rights for a package of productions concerned with the subject of the Second World War, while Russian Report will soon be tempting its viewers with "Update - The World in 50 Years", "Super Comet" and "Black Hole". RTV Slovenia purchased a package of contemporary documentary films, and the Polish channel TVP obtained broadcasting rights for "Inside the Vatican".
