ZDF Enterprises takes over exclusive sales worldwide

Washington, DC / Mainz, Germany – September 20th, 2010

ZDF Enterprises has taken over the exclusive worldwide sales of a package of more than 60 hours of National Geographic Channel factual documentary programming, it was announced today. The agreement was negotiated by (on picture from left to right) Judy Levenson, (Sr. Manager, Development & Co-Production, National Geographic Channel), ZDF Enterprises', Alexander Coridass (President and CEO), Kristina Hollstein (Director Coproductions and Development / Documentaries ), Whit Higgins, (Director, Development & Co-Production National Geographic Channel) and Nikolas Huelbusch (Project Manager Coproductions and Development / Documentaries at ZDF Enterprises).

Thanks to the extensive collaboration that has been agreed upon, ZDF Enterprises can exclusively offer its customers these high-caliber programs for a variety of purposes such as TV, AV, DVD and online. The package consists of programs that have already successfully aired on National Geographic Channel in the U.S.. The programs are shot in HD and will be part of ZDF Enterprises’ portfolio of factual series. The first series to be introduced by ZDF Enterprises at MIPCOM is 'Delta Divers', a true-life action adventure which offers a unique view into the adrenaline-filled lives and works of commercial underwater divers and their suspenseful stories and toughest jobs. Other series included in the package are 'Alaska State Troopers', a series which follows one of the toughest law enforcement agencies in the nation and captures the dramatic challenges they have to face each and every day as well as 'Inside Hubble's Final Mission', where American astronaut John Herrington gives a rare behind the scenes look at the people, places and things that have prepared the crew and the Space Shuttle Atlantis for the final voyage to the Hubble Space Telescope.

National Geographic Channel recently received 19 Emmy nominations for excellence in news and documentary, just one less than HBO and more than all competing networks combined. This marks the third year in a row that National Geographic Channel has received the most nominations of any ad supported cable network.

In the words of Alexander Coridass, President and CEO of ZDF Enterprises: "For decades now, the National Geographic Channel brand has been known for successful, top-quality documentary productions that have been awarded over 100 Emmys to date. We are proud to have been able to reach this agreement with National Geographic Channel. I am convinced that ZDF Enterprises with its expertise in distribution and renown and first-class service will be the ideal partner for National Geographic Channel in the marketing of these programs."
