ZDF Enterprises’ factual programs to debut on Hulu and Hulu Plus
German distributor and US VoD service continue their successful cooperation
Mainz, 25th March 2014
ZDF Enterprises will distribute a package of top documentary programs to Hulu, adding a sizable collection of 12 titles to the free, ad-supported Hulu.com and Hulu Plus subscription service.
These programs are produced by some of the best German, European and international filmmakers. All shot in HD, they date from between 2005 and 2013 and rank among the finest factual programs that ZDF Enterprises has in its catalogue. Many of them have aired a number of times all over the world. Enhancing their appeal to US audiences is the fact that several programs have explicit links to the US (scientific experts, shooting locations, etc.).
Hulu will offer selected programs from a number of different genres for debut, namely ancient history, archaeology, wildlife and nature, 20th-century history, current affairs, travel, people and places. Fans of the VoD service in the US can look forward to “The History of the Christmas Tree,” as well as “Wild Germany,” “Wild Poland” and “Scotland – Highlands and Islands” – which is sure to appeal to American viewers who like their docs wild and woolly!
