ZDF Enterprises closes first deal with Israeli broadcaster HOP!

Mainz, 16th June 2014

ZDF Enterprises’ children’s division ZDFE.junior is proud to announce its first deal with Israeli kids’ broadcaster HOP! for a wide range of rights. They include all TV and VoD rights, whereby the topics will be prepared for crossmedia exploitation.

According to the “Top 50 Kids Channels 2013,” HOP! is “the leading preschool channel in Israel.” It reaches 1.6 million households there, with 84 % market share for households with children between the ages of 4 to 7.

ZDF Enterprises’ first package deal with HOP! focuses on animation, and includes the whimsical “Q Pootle 5” and his friends from the far-away planet of Okidoki; “Fun with Claude,” the little polar bear who moves to snowless Bearhampton with his parents; and “Ludovic,” the magical stories of a teddy bear and his pals who come alive when no adults are around. HOP! has also acquired the rights for their Luli Channel in Turkey to the latter two productions.

Ronit Alkon, Director of Acquisition & International Distribution: “Israel is very technology-oriented, and we give our brands 360-degree support, and our audience a crossplatform experience. We proudly cherry pick brands from all over the world and we see a great potential on our services for all three programs."

Alexander Coridass, President and CEO of ZDF Enterprises: “This influential and widely watched kids’ channel fits perfectly into our production and distribution activities. We’re confident that our top-quality animation shows will thrill Israeli youngsters and make the broadcaster want more programs, including live-action ones as well.”
