Top 10 Highlights of ZDF Enterprises' MIPCOM 2014 Line-Up

Mainz, 15th September 2014.

Adventures at sea, on every continent and with great yet virtual friends – that's the winning mix that ZDF Enterprises is bringing to its ZDFE.junior portfolio at this fall's MIPCOM. The animated H2O Mermaid Adventures (52 x 24') takes the original concept of the international live-action series H2O Just Add Water to a whole new level by combining bubbly humor, excitement and emotional turbulence. Marcus Level (52 x 13') is a brand-new hero who gets drawn into his favorite video game and has to show his new virtual pals what he's capable of when they encounter adventures that are usually only virtual... Dedicated to saving the world are the Skinner Boys (26 x 24'), also known as the Guardians of the Lost Secrets, unique artefacts that possess incredible powers.

A mainstay of ZDF Enterprises' offerings are its fine dramas, and this year's crime and suspense is one of many highlights in the catalogue. In The Team (8 x 60' / 4 x 115'), an international police unit hunts a transborder crime-network that shakes Europe to its core. The eco-crime fighters of Tellus (6 x 50') are seeking an answer to the question: how far would you go to save the planet? Murder, love and double lives get in the way of their righteous intentions. After the great success of the first season on BBC, Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan return for a second season of The Fall (6 x 60’ or 3 x 90’).

ZDFE.factual’s programs are the most content-rich and building blocks in ZDF Enterprises' library, encompassing all areas of history, nature and science. Among the top new programs this fall is Apocalypse Neanderthal (1 x 90’ or 2 x 50’), which takes us back 40,000 years ago, to when the Neanderthals were our closest human relatives – before they disappeared from the earth. The documentary Last Secrets of the Third Reich, Season 2 (5 x 50') pores over Hitler’s recently rediscovered medical records and examines the fate – suicide or murder? – of Hitler’s paladin Rudolf Hess. The fascinating three-parter Ascent of Civilization (3 x 50') traces an inheritance that leads us back to the world of three ancient trailblazer cultures, the world of the Greeks, the Romans and the Vikings.

Finally, the ZDFE.entertainment also has some interesting formats to offer, the foremost of which is bowing this fall at MIPCOM, Quiz Champion (1 x 150'). In this super-tough quiz show, being good isn't enough: candidates and celebrities have to win five duels in several different categories.
