THE FUTURE IS WILD is ZDF Enterprises’ bestselling documentary in 2003
ZDF Enterprises has announced today that the 3x52’ (13x25’ or 13x15’ alternatively) production THE FUTURE IS WILD is its bestselling documentary in 2003.
By travelling 5 million, 100 million, or up to 200 million years into the future, THE FUTURE IS WILD attempts to provide some answers as to how our earth will be. Using the best scientific brains, the very latest in animation technology and top television talent, this series creates images of both our future world and its inhabitants.
While the list of coproduction partners already consists of some of the most reputable companies in TV business such as Germany’s ZDF, the French-German cultural channel arte, Austria’s ORF, Mediaset/Italy, Planeta/Spain, Animal Planet/USA and Discovery Channels Inc., the list of countries the series was sold to is not less impressive.
ZDF Enterprises has sold the TV rights of the program into 18 markets such as Belgium, Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Ecuador, France, Germany, Hongkong, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Middle East, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia and Venezuela. The audiovisual rights have been sold to 34 countries with Image Entertainment, Icestorm, Loonmart, Bonniers, Mediaset and DeaPlaneta being the major partners. Deals for publishing rights have so far been closed for 23 countries with licensees such as Egmont, Firefly, Nathan, deAgostini and many others.
