JMSP and ZDF Enterprises announce production start of new flagship children's series
Melbourne and Mainz, 25th August, 2010
Jonathan M. Shiff Productions, Australia's leading producer of children's drama, and ZDF Enterprises, one of Germany's most renowned distributors, have today announced that production will soon begin on their new flagship children's series, LIGHTNING POINT.
When ZOEY and KIKI, two irrepressible girls from another galaxy become castaways in the quiet, Australian seaside town of Lightning Point, they recruit local girl AMBER to keep them undercover. But the whole town is abuzz with the sighting of UFOs and the girls soon realise that they may not be the first intergalactic visitors ...
The series is to be produced in association with ZDF, Germany's largest public broadcaster, Network Ten Australia and Nickelodeon Australia, with investment from Screen Australia and Screen Queensland. It will be distributed worldwide by ZDF Enterprises. Filming will begin on November 8th, 2010 at Village Roadshow Studios on Queensland's Gold Coast.
Hundreds of teenagers nationally will audition for the coveted roles that offer the chance for young Australian talent to be launched internationally, in the tradition of other actors from JMSP smash hit series, H2O - JUST ADD WATER and THE ELEPHANT PRINCESS.
