Lars Mikkelsen promotes ZDF’s new crime series „The Team“ at the BERLINALE

Danish actor Lars Mikkelsen was among the numerous celibrities celebrating at the ZDF-Lounge at the Berlinale. Invited by the feature films department of German public broadcaster ZDF, he reported on how much pleasure he and the other actors had in working in an international team and how delighted he was with the strong international interest in the crime series. He said: "I have read the books and had no doubt that the series would be good. It was particularly exciting for me to shoot in several countries and languages. "
Lars Mikkelsen is one of the leading characters of “The Team” and plays the role of Chief Superintendent Harald Bjørn of the Copenhagen Homicide Department. As an internationally acknowledged expert in organized crime, he works in a European „Joint Investigation Team“ (JIT) with Jackie (Jasmin Gerat) in Berlin and Alicia (Veerle Baetens) in Antwerp. Other international actors of the series include Nicholas Ofczarek and Carlos Léal.
“The Team” (8x60’ or 4x115’) is distributed by ZDF Enterprises. Lars Mikkelsen is also well-known for his role as Mayoral candidate Troels Hartmann in the iEmmy- and BAFTA-awarded crime series “The Killing” ("Forbrydelsen", 40x60’) which is also part of ZDF Enterprises’ sales catalogue.

The authors have already written for awarded series such as “The Eagle” and “The protectors” and are known for their well-grounded and vividly inventive cases with complex, stimulating characters.
“The Team” benefits from Europe’s huge cultural diversity and is shot in original languages. The Germans speak German with each other , the Danes Danish, the Belgians Flemish - and all together they communicate in English. German pubcaster ZDF will air a German dubbed version and the European version will be available on the internet.
“The Team” is produced by Network Movie for ZDF in association with Danmarks Radio (DR), Nordisk Film, Lunanime, Lumière, C-Films and Superfilm. Other broadcasters inlcude DR (Denmark), SVT (Sweden), ORF (Austria), SRF (Switzerland), VTM (Belgium) und ARTE (France/Germany).
