"Hard Time" seasons I-III sold to France's RMC Découverte

ZDF Enterprises' biggest deal to date with fledgling broadcaster

Mainz, 17th September 2013

ZDF Enterprises has just concluded its biggest licensing deal to date with France’s RMC Découverte for seasons I to III of the factual series “Hard Time.” The sometimes gut-wrenching, often uplifting, but always fascinating tales of men and women locked away in some of America’s most tightly guarded prisons have become a major hit among unscripted factual shows. The licensing of altogether 22 episodes goes into effect as of September 2013. The Free TV broadcaster RMC Découverte was launched on 12 December 2012. This package represents ZDF Enterprises’ most comprehensive sale to date with this partner.

About RMC Découverte
On December 12th 2012, NextRadioTV launched the first free DTT factual channel in France, in High Definition : RMC Découverte. This new channel specialized in factual entertainment, is steadily increasing since then to 0.6% audience share, thanks to various genre proposed, such as Pop Science, Adventure, Wildlife, Real life, History and Investigation and Travel. In July, RMC Découverte is placed on the first position of the six DTT newcomers.
