Documentary on Henry Kissinger in great demand all over the world
Mainz, 16th September 2010
Stephan Lamby's recent documentary "Henry Kissinger – Secrets of a Superpower" (1 x 90' or 2 x 45') is in ever greater demand among broadcasters all over the world. The ECO Media production distributed by ZDF Enterprises has recently been sold to such high-profile institutions as the Biography Channel (for the German-speaking nations) and the History Channel for Italian-speaking territories. While Mico has snapped up the free TV rights for Japan, Peppermint has acquired the AV rights for Hong Kong and Macau. In Italy, the Free TV rights have been sold to RAI Cinema; in Finland, YLE is responsible for the Free TV exploitation, Radio Canada secured Canadian rights and VRT the Free TV rights for Flemish Belgium.
For the first time ever, Kissinger, a foreign-affairs specialist of long standing, agreed to talk candidly about his life in this intimate portrait filmed in HD at his home in Connecticut. Kissinger played an important role in the great crises of the 20th century, and, though he was honored with a Nobel Peace Prize, he is still highly contested to this day. This documentary is fascinating not only for the information revealed by Kissinger himself, but also for the insights provided by other historical witnesses who were interviewed exclusively for this program, including George W. Bush senior, Alexander Haig, James Schlesinger, Richard Perle, Lawrence Eagleburger, Brent Scowcroft, Helmut Schmidt, Norman Mailer (in one of his last interviews) and Carl Bernstein.
