Mainz, 8th September, 2016
ZDF Enterprises, one of the largest and most highly regarded distributors in Europe, is strengthening its relationship with CuriosityStream, the world’s first ad-free streaming documentary service.
ZDF Enterprises has delivered, to date, a total of 56.5 hours of astonishing documentaries for global streaming on CuriosityStream, where the best factual programming from filmmakers around the world can be enjoyed on demand, any time, streamed on any device.
Two of the programs are available now on CuriosityStream, with two more coming in the fall.
- In two fifty-minute episodes, The Power of Volcanoes explores the events leading up to a volcanic eruption and ways these can be predicted. The documentary was produced by Cologne-based Gruppe 5 Filmproduktion, a company that has been making television programmes for both the German and the international market for more than 25 years. Available on CuriosityStream now.
- The Celts form a large part of the ancestral stock of most of Western Europe, but we know relatively little about them. But for nearly a thousand years, they actively shaped the history of Europe. The Romans feared them, and yet they also learned the art of warfare from them. This three-part documentary series, The Celts: Blood, Iron & Sacrifice, produced by ZDF and BBC in association with arte, examines the life, work and struggles of these tribes. Available on CuriosityStream now.
- Everyone knows the Jungle Book and the story of Mowgli who was raised by monkeys, but how close is this to reality? The fifty-minute documentary Children of the Wild, produced by ZDF in association with ZDF Enterprises, studies well-documented accounts of feral children and investigates plausible cases in India and Africa. Coming to CuriosityStream fall 2016.
- The drama documentary World War A: The Human Chronicles looks into predictions made by the world’s leading scientists about an alien invasion of Earth. Genuine scientific theories and actual military defence plans are blended with harrowing video diaries shot by people during the alien invasion to give this series a unique perspective and look. Story House Productions is currently working on this fifty-minute documentary in association with ZDF Enterprises. Coming to CuriosityStream fall 2016.
