Carim Aadam is appointed as co-managing director at doc.station

Hartmut Klenke will retire as of January 2017

Mainz, 4th October 2016

With effect as of 1 October 2016, Carim Aadam has been appointed as co-managing director of doc.station; until further notice, the 39-year-old has taken on this role in addition to his function of CEO at ZDF Digital Medienproduktion in Mainz.

This was announced by Stephan Adrian, Executive VP and CFO at ZDF Enterprises, as chairman of doc.station's supervisory board. From January 2017 onwards, Aadam will be the sole managing director of the Hamburg production company, and will thus succeed Hartmut Klenke, who is retiring. ‘In Hamburg, Hartmut Klenke has built an excellent company for non-fiction programme formats. The spectrum of programming, from talk shows, through history and science documentaries and dramatized documentaries, and up to reports and nature films, is unparalleled,’ says Stephan Adrian. ‘Its clients are numerous public and private broadcasters, and its awards range from the Grimme Prize, through the German Television Award, up to the Silver Medal of the New York Film Festival for Stalin's Daughter a few weeks ago. We thank Hartmut Klenke for his impressive achievements and we are pleased that he is supporting us in the succession management.’

After management positions at, among other companies, Multipass Media, FormatSchmiede and NEWS AND PICTURES, Carim Aadam has been the managing director of ZDF Digital since August 2014. ‘During this period, he has undertaken numerous programme and production realignments, and has adjusted the company to digitisation on a lasting basis. We believe that he is just the right person to continue to maintain and recharge the doc.station brand,’ Adrian further states.

Carim Aadam comments: „I look forward to the new task of shaping the future of a renowned production company like doc.station with a superb team."
