Wildlife 24

24 hours doesn’t seem very long, just a flash in the pan. But in just one day, our world sees huge changes, endless beauty and constant drama. As the sun and moon make their commutes across the sky, their daily pattern is echoed by the natural world below. This is the incredible story of 24 hours in the life of planet Earth.

From the dawn chorus of birds to reptiles basking in the sun, to jaguars hunting still sluggish caiman and vultures waiting for thermals to carry them high.

The morning’s a busy time, but by midday, most animals must seek shade. Only the hardiest stay out. Hippos hide in the river, but as the day cools they emerge to feed. In the trees above, as birds settle to roost, thousands of bats head out in search of food.

A lot happens in 24 hours, our world goes from one extreme to the other.

What a difference a day makes!
