Daniel, 18, has a dream, and it’s about to become reality: He and his pals launch the band “Viva Hate”, which he intends to catapult from provincial Gothenburg out into the world. With stolen instruments and unshakeable self-confidence, they sign up for a competition – and win! But something else happens, something more important, more dangerous, more frightening: he falls in love with the troubled Fanny, who realizes how love can both save and destroy your life. Daniel’s antagonist Sören even cuts off his tattoo in desperation when his woman leaves him. As the band becomes more successful, Daniel is hounded by his brother, the band and Fanny, who all know exactly what Daniel needs. “Viva Hate” starts with an earthquake and builds on from there. A high-intensity ode to love, with lots of humor, chases, fights with anarcho-feminists and wannabe gangsters.
