Head down the A8 autobahn one fine summer's day, struggle up the Irschenberg hill south of Munich, and you are faced with a spectacular view - ahead is the River Inn valley, with rolling meadows and half-timbered farmhouses, beyond that the Alps reach up into the blue sky, and to the left you can glimpse Lake Chiemsee. In the middle is the idyllic city of Rosenheim.. but unfortunately, even here there are evil people capable of heinous crimes. Like everywhere else in the world. And policemen whose job it is to fight crime - like everywhere else in the world. Murder is still murder, in New York, Berlin or Rosenheim. The approach to an investigation may be different here: gentler, more relaxed. Everyone knows each another, and the characters involved are not merely victims, culprits and police officers - above all, they are human beings.
