After returning to the hospital, Mie feels guilty about what has happened to Vronsky. Ethical reasoning comes into play when Wolkers’ superior finds out the detective is too personally involved. Wolkers insists and is given a final 24 hours to solve the case.
He confronts Mie with Ranger Bob, who stirs up Mie’s emotions as she’s convinced he did something terrible to Thomas Spectre. Mie insists Wolkers go back to the bloody cabin, and while he searches the woods, Mommaerts pushes Mie harder to remember what happened to Thomas.
This final episode connects the fate of every character. Each storyline is woven together into one great apotheosis.
