"Coast Guard" tells about the gripping everyday life of police boat "Albatros" and its crew on the Baltic Sea. Commander detective superintendent Holger Ehlers and his team of 17 are officers with the Federal Border Police. Since German reunification, the Federal Border Police controls and protects the sea territories off the German Baltic coast with its speed- and patrol boats.
This is a particularly difficult task for the crew around detective superintendent Ehlers. For since the abolition of the Iron Curtain, numerous smugglers' paths lead from the Eastern European countries across the open sea to the West.
