InfestationUnderwater Invasion (eps. 2)

In Episode 2 – Underwater Invasion, Dr. David Lodge examines the infestations that are spreading throughout our fresh and salt water systems and clogging our precious waterways. The lionfish invasion is one of the worst marine disasters to ever hit the Eastern seaboard. In Africa, Lake Victoria's vital fishing industry is in danger of collapsing due to the giant Nile Perch infestation. Fishermen in the Illinois region are in danger of being overrun by an invasion of Asian Carp. The excessive run-off of phosphorus from fertilizers is draining into our waterways and is causing blue green to grow in excess. Dead zones are on the rise due to an infestation of tiny microscopic creatures known as Red Tide. “Jellygeddon” is on the rise as jellyfish are causing billions of dollars of damage every year.
